Wikipedia is not edited by a staff of professional editors like the Encyclopedia Britannica.
Instead, its articles are revised on an on-going basis by anyone who wants to publish. In this case, a campaign was launched by the Birther community to change the Wikipedia entry for Obama. When Wikipedia found out about this, it changed it back. Then the birthers changed it again.
But the Wikipedia article now says that Obama was born in Hawaii, which is the truth. (It says: "Barack Obama was born at the Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States,[6]")
The Hawaii location of birth is confirmed by the official birth certificate of Hawaii, which is now the Certification of Live Birth. http://www.starbulletin.com/features/20090606_kokua_line.html
And the birth in Hawaii is further confirmed by the two officials in Hawaii who looked into the file and said that there was an original birth certificate in it. That must be a Hawaii birth certificate because in 1961 Hawaii did not allow foreign birth certificates to be entered into its birth certificate files.
